Welcome to
Hinsdale Village Caucus Online

This site provides information about the Caucus (who we are and how we operate) and local elections (endorsed candidates, voting information). We appreciate your interest in the Caucus, and we welcome any comments or questions you may have about the Caucus or this site.

The Caucus is a non-partisan body of residents who identify, interview and then nominate a slate of candidates for the boards of the Village of Hinsdale, the Hinsdale Library and  Community Consolidated Elementary School District 181.  Any resident in the District 181 attendance area who is a registered voter was eligible to serve as a delegate.*  The initial organizational meeting for the 2011 Hinsdale Village Caucus was May 16, 2010 at which the delegates were seated.  The various nominating committees were chosen on September 12, 2010. The nominating committees made their recommendations and the full Caucus endorsed a slate of candidates for the District 181 School Board, the Hinsdale Library Board and the Village of Hinsdale trustees on Dec. 1 for the April 5, 2011 election. The Hinsdale Caucus-endorsed candidates for the Village of Hinsdale, the Hinsdale Library and 3 of the 4 candidates for the District 181 School Board were elected to office on April 5, 2011.
